Rooster Is as Rooster Does

There are aspects, traditions and customs in every culture that make other cultures look and them and say "What is wrong with you people?" Life is filled with judgments on "those" people and the things "they" do. So today as I sat ring side at my first cock fight, I had to fight my initial urge to criticize and judge. Cock fights are not illegal in Peru, and not only are they socially acceptable, they are an integral part of celebrations and town festivals. I had get over myself and my American moral high horse cause well, we have children in beauty pageants in the U.S. and that is not illegal- and I mean really- what is wrong with you people? I took some pics of the other volunteers, scenery and people at the event for your enjoyment, so please do.

But don't you feel that you shouldn't justify one wrong with another? I don't believe in child beauty pageants, but no one's dying either and we're not training them to attack or fight until death. I just think it's really cruel no matter what country you're in and what the "norm" is. :(
